Abstract

This research proposes a coupled assessment framework integrating industrial effluent quality, river water quality, and sediment contamination to identify pollution control priorities. The study evaluates physicochemical parameters, heavy metals, water quality indices, sediment contamination indices, and risk-based prioritization approaches.

The findings highlight industrial mixing zones as critical pollution hotspots, where contaminants such as Cr, Cd, Ni, Pb, Cu, and Zn contribute to elevated ecological risks. The study emphasizes source-specific pollution control, sediment monitoring, and sustainable river management strategies.

Research focus: Industrial wastewater management, river sediment contamination, heavy metal pollution, ecological risk assessment, and environmental monitoring.
